About the Artist
Meg R. Head explores the liminal qualities of landscapes and seascapes through paintings which are the culmination of her observation of the natural landscape through drawing, and watercolor preparatory studies.
Weaving together these elements from memory and imagination, sensing a balance between representation and abstraction, her exploration of the pictorial space reflects the transient nature of light. Following this light, joy is revealed within the painting.
The oil medium, with its expressive capacity to make marks, dashes, and lines, creates mood, which convey feelings about the observed environment.
For the last thirty years, Meg has painted in her studios (and exhibited) in Florida, California, and England, and wherever a brush may lead her.
